Silver prices rose 0.15 per cent to Rs 42,934 per kg at the futures trade today after traders raised bets largely in tune with a firm global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month May traded higher by Rs 63 or 0.15 per cent at Rs 42,934 per kg in a business turnover of five lots.

Also, the white metal for delivery in far-month March rose Rs 28 or 0.07 per cent to Rs 42,373 per kg in 427 lots.

In the international market, silver gained 0.03 per cent to $17.75 an ounce in Singapore today.

Market analysts said a firm trend in the global market, mainly contributed to the rise in silver futures.
