Deepak M. Satwalekar appointed as Chairman of Board of Governors of IIM Indore

MUMBAI: Deepak M. Satwalekar, Venture Advisor, Nexus Venture Partners has been appointed as the Chairman of the Society and Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Management Indore.

Satwalekar will be the Chairman of the Institute for the next three years, starting from January 27, 2017.

Satwalekar was earlier the Managing Director and CEO of HDFC Standard Life Insurance Co. Prior to that, he served as the Managing Director of Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC).

He has been a consultant to the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (HABITAT).

The new BOG chairman is on the Advisory Council of IIT Bombay, and has chaired and been a member of several expert groups related to industry, government and the Reserve Bank of India.

He holds a degree in Technology from IIT Bombay and an MBA from The American University, Washington D.C.
