MUMBAI: Westlife Development Ltd, the master franchisee for McDonald's operations in southern and western India, has reported a 14.6% increase in revenue to Rs 241.75 crore for the quarter ended December, driven by new stores and formats.

The company posted a loss of Rs 11.5 lakh during the quarter against Rs 3.45 lakh a year ago.

Its same-store sales – which consider sales only at those stores which were operating during both comparable periods – grew 5.1%.

“With the revamped MDS app, we are confident of connecting more than ever with our consumers and offering them easy, personalised and truly useful features,” said Westlife’s Vice-chairman Amit Jatia. “In fact, our web and mobile platforms contribute over 55% sales to the total McDelivery business for McDonald’s,” he added.

Gross margin marginally declined 10 basis points to 60.4%.
