Launches new range in select markets globally

The global energy management and automation products and solutions company Schneider Electric today launched new range of energy-efficient contactors for switching and control applications and new compact circuit breakers to ensure protection against low voltage fluctuations.

These products, to be largely deployed in industrial and buildings segments, along with automation original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), will be initially sourced from the company global manufacturing units.

The € 27 billion in revenue diversified major plans to soon manufacture these products at the company facility in Telangana State for domestic and global markets. The unit located near Hyderabad has recently been upgraded and capacity doubled. The interesting aspect of the manufacturing units is about two-thirds of its employees are women.

Shrinivas Chebbi, Vice President, Eco Buildings and partner Business, Schneider Electric India said, “New regulations and standards require companies to become more accountable for energy efficiency and sustainability. The products designed keeping in mind OEMs and plant managers ensure significant cost savings both during installations and also when in use. The circuit breakers provides protection to low voltage electrical installations and application in switchboards, panel boards and control panels for power distribution purpose.”

Deepak Sharma, Senior Vice President, Schneider Electric said, “The products have been simultaneously launched in India and couple of select markets. Initially, while these products would be sourced from other global manufacturing units, these are proposed to be made in Hyderabad plant for use in the domestic market and also for exports.”

If the current trends are any indication, the energy requirement is set to double at a rapid pace as the demand goes up. Significantly, with countries committing and seeking to cut down on emissions and energy usage, such energy efficient products will play a critical role, Chebbi explained.

The company is known for its eco-structure architecture making a difference to its deployments be it in smart buildings, smart factories or smart cities.
