No person outside government to be appointed as personal staff: Sarbananda Sonowal

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has directed that no Minister and Minister of State will appoint any person outside the government in his or her personal staff or in any other position.

According to a government statement, "In case, any Minister or Minister of State desires to engage services of any person outside the government, the matter should be placed before the Cabinet. Similarly, all important decisions involving public interest and public policy should also be brought by the Department before the Cabinet," the Chief Minister directed.

Recently, there was an allegation that Forest minister Parmila Rani Brahma has appointed her private staff in the department.
