Silver prices were up by Rs 375 to Rs 41,800 per kg at the futures trade today as traders increased their bets amid a firm global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March moved up by Rs 375 or 0.91 per cent to Rs 41,800 per kg in a business turnover of 475 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in May traded higher by Rs 345 or 0.82 per cent at Rs 42,400 per kg in 23 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in silver prices at the futures trade to a firm trend in precious metal overseas and pick-up in demand at the spot market.

Meanwhile, silver rose 0.56 per cent to $17.15 an ounce in Singapore.
