Shares in IOT Group have surged after the drone developer said it had received strong interest in its flying selfie camera.
IOT says its recent launch of the ROVA personal drone at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas generated highly favourable customer reaction.
"IOT will be meeting with these customers in coming weeks to finalise initial orders for the ROVA personal drone," IOT said on Monday.
IOT has placed an order with AEE, one of the largest manufacturers and developers of drone products in the world, for the manufacture of 40,000 ROVA drones in anticipation of initial demand for the device.
IOT will start marketing the ROVA drone in the US in late February and expects ROVA to be available in stores in March-April.
IOT expects sales revenue from the ROVA drone to start coming in from February 2017.
IOT shares were 0.6 cents, or 20 per cent higher, at 3.6 cents at 1136 AEDT.
